Kelly Responded!

Ever since I began my New Year's practice, I've waited until the end of that day to decide what to add to my Jar of Goodness. But not today. Right after I finished my morning coffee and unplugged my phone from the where it had been charging, I saw an email notification pop up with the name Kelly Corrigan. "Oh, my God," I thought. "No way!"

Kelly Corrigan is a New York Times bestselling author, journalist, and podcaster who has written four memoirs and two children's books. She also hosts a show on PBS, Tell Me More With Kelly Corrigan, and her podcast, Kelly Corrigan Wonders,

is a standard on my weekly episodes.

She is a super smart person and interviews a lot of interesting, thoughtful, and wise people on both her TV show and podcast. I even used one of her quotes at the beginning of my novel, JOURNEYS, because it incapsulates the overall theme of that book.

On her podcast Kelly sometimes provides a prompt and asks her listeners to send her an email, with the promise that every email does indeed get looked at and, perhaps, will even get read on air in a future episode. So, when the prompt had to do with New Year's Resolutions, I couldn't resist and sent her an email with my Jar of Goodness story and inspiration. Then, I went about my business and forgot all about it. Until this morning when I was treated to her response!

How cool is that?! It doesn't even matter to me if she includes my email on her podcast. Just the fact that she took the time to read it and respond is reward enough and fills me with joy. Not unlike the time when I received a LETTER from Hillary Clinton in response to an email I sent her when she provided a prompt to her listeners on her podcast, You and Me Both with Hillary Clinton. Yeah, that's right! I received a letter on her official stationary from the Hillary Rodham Clinton. I'm hobnobbing with the cool girls, Ya'll!!!
